Marine Cargo Insurance

is an insurance or coverage that provides guarantee or protection against loss or damage to the object of insured as a result of sea hazards (Maritime Perils) that occur during transportation by sea.

 

Maritime perils:

Marine hazards are grouped into 3 (three) groups, namely:

 

1. Perils on the Sea .

are the dangers that arise / occur above the sea itself. namely: shipwrecked, Drowning, Fire, Collision or Explosion (Sunk, Stranded, Burnt, Collision, Explosion) which is often shortened to SSBCE

 

2. Perils of the Sea.

are hazards arising / occurring due to the nature of the sea itself.

Such as: Storms, Waves, Earthquakes, typhoons, bad weather, the entry of water into the hold / storage area.

 

3. Extraneous Perils.

are extra dangers / risks, outside of Perils on the sea and of the Sea. Such as: Theft, Robbery, Pilferage, Gancu, etc.
